Coming Home Retreat

For those who have attended Boarding School

23rd - 26th October 2025 - With Debbie Beauchamp & Hugh Newton

We, Debbie Beauchamp and Hugh Newton ran the first Coming Home retreat in February 2024, excerpts of which were included in the documentary Boarding on Insanity. The feedback we received from participants was that they received great value from the retreat.
We are running our second Coming Home Retreat and invite you to join us if you have attended Boarding School and wish to bring understanding and healing to your experience during that time. The retreat will provide you with an opportunity to explore, transform and heal negative experiences.

In our experience, when our needs are not met during childhood, they continue to impact us into adulthood, particularly with regard to our behaviours and beliefs. Our focus this weekend is to support you to bring healing to your “inner child” and bring them back home with kindness and compassion.

On the retreat, we explore the impact of your time at boarding school with a focus on:

Understanding what it was like for your child/teenager to experience boarding school and the long-term impact of this
Identifying your needs that were not met at that time and how you, as an adult, can meet them now
Identifying your unhealthy beliefs and behaviours created from your experience so you can continue to heal and transform
Having space for your experience and feelings to be heard and held
Your experience of losing your home and family security and how this has continued to affect you as an adult
Exploring how boarding school impacted your relationship with your parents, siblings, and loved ones so that you can bring honesty, reconnection and peace where possible

Our invitation is to bring your boarding school child home so that they are connected, nurtured, cared for and protected, so that you can know your innocence and bring wonder, play and joy back into your life. You will be witnessed with presence, safety and compassion as you share this time of your childhood and how it affected you.

Venue Location

We will embark on a transformative journey, held in the wisdom of nature. The nourishing natural ecosystem provides us with endless opportunities for healing and to come home to your innate nature. The retreat will be held on land just outside Frome, Somerset, which is being returned to its wild nature. You can choose to camp on the land in your own tent or camper van, which is included in the cost. Or, if you prefer, you can book a local hotel or guesthouse. When booking, we will provide you with additional information.

For female participants who do not enjoy camping, we have a few beds in shared bedrooms available in the house next door to the land. The additional cost is £60 for the three nights.
